A continued examination of the human psyche, Evolution of Self, nods to the historically praised artist self-portrait while underscoring the self more generally. This over-saturated blue space symbolizes the lingering effects of trauma on the brain in daily life while underscoring hope for life after via temporal reconstruction. Embracing destruction as a psychoanalytic process, this is my first installation to address neuroplasticity, as shown in the title, and the symmetrical escalation of fragmented objects from the outside moving in. As the objects align across from their other half, they rise, moving toward the center.
